1. What is pediatric speech therapy?
Pediatric speech therapy helps children improve their ability to communicate effectively. Therapy can target speech sound production (articulation), language development, motor speech coordination, and social communication skills. At Listen–Think–Speech, therapy is always tailored to your child’s individual needs.
2. What ages do you work with?
We work with children from toddlers (18 months+) to school-aged children. If you're unsure whether your child is too young or too old to benefit from therapy, feel free to reach out—we’ll help guide you.
3. What are signs my child might need speech therapy?
Has trouble being understood by others
Is not speaking as much as peers
Struggles to follow directions
Has difficulty forming sentences
Shows frustration when trying to communicate
Has been diagnosed with a speech, language, or developmental disorder
If you have concerns, trust your instincts—early intervention can make a big difference.
4. What types of communication issues do you treat?
Our specialties include:
Articulation and phonological disorders
Expressive and receptive language delays
Motor speech disorders (including apraxia of speech)
Social/pragmatic communication difficulties
Communication challenges related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental delays
5. How are therapy sessions structured?
Each session is customized for your child’s age, interests, and goals. Therapy is play-based, engaging, and structured to promote real-life communication. We also work closely with families and caregivers to support progress at home and school.
6. Where do you provide speech therapy?
We serve families in the following Manhattan neighborhoods:
Murray Hill
Kips Bay
Gramercy
Sessions may be provided in-home, school, or online via teletherapy, depending on your needs and location.
7. Do you accept insurance?
We are a private pay practice. However, we provide detailed invoices (superbills) that many families use to request out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. Contact us if you need help navigating this process.
8. How do I schedule an evaluation or consultation?
To get started:
📞 Call: 914-844-4446
📧 Email: lori@listenthinkspeech.com
We’ll schedule a free 30-minute initial phone consultation to learn more about your child and determine the best next steps.
9. How long does speech therapy take?
Every child is different. Some children need short-term support, while others may benefit from ongoing therapy. After an initial consultation, we’ll provide you with a recommended plan based on your child’s specific needs.
